Fantasmic! returned to Disneyland on Saturday, May 28, 2022 and an unexpected moment of applause and cheers burst during the show when imagery of actor Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow appeared. While the scene is not new, recent media circus around his defamation trial lawsuit seems to have stirred passionate supporters into a show of support as was seen during both shows on opening night.

Fantasmic! features Mickey Mouse in a dream of his own design that explores the colorful world of Disney with characters, fountains, lights, and pyro plus a climatic battle with Maleficent in dragon form and a character-filled finale at which you’d be hard-pressed to not find yourself cheering.
