It’s been quite some time since we’ve done a DLR pictorial but we’re happy to flex some muscle memory on our recent trip to Anaheim for a look at the current state of the Disneyland Resort.
As the resort gears up for A TOUCH OF DISNEY limited-time event this month, we spotted signs of readiness around Disney California Adventure. In addition, we popped in and around the shops of Downtown Disney for a look at the latest must-have purchasables.
We’re still no where near “normal” and with the state of Passholder/Membership still up in the air it’s difficult to see what exactly the future will look like but we’re thankful to our readers for sticking by MouseInfo for the past 21 years for info on the mouse! Ready for this pictorial? We are! ENJOY!
The Arrival Experience
Mostly unchanged from our last visit in October or when Downtown Disney first opened last July the day still begins with parking in the Downtown Disney Simba parking lot (now $10 per car) and otherwise following similar process of health and safety screening (temperature check) and then security screening (past canine units and metal detectors).
Once inside, mask usage and social distancing standards are thoroughly enforced across the entire property.
State of Downtown Disney
Not much has really changed around Downtown Disney since last October as far as operations. The boundaries of Downtown Disney remain temporarily unique with the area in-between Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Hotel being utilized for screenings. Plus, parts of the front of Disney California Adventure have also been absorbed into Downtown Disney for now greatly expanding the overall capacity.
Normal features of the Resort remain closed for now including the parks, Disneyland Resort Hotels, Disneyland Monorail, and various locations within Downtown Disney including the still-defunct AMC Theater.
Signage and new procedures are in place all over the place to ensure social distancing compliance.
Sprinkles remains closed for now.
THE VOID remains vacated.
Disney California Adventure
Disney California Adventure has been a part of Downtown Disney for the past few months but after March 14, the park will once again close and starting March 18 it will be available as part of A TOUCH OF DISNEY. In the meantime, parts of Buena Vista Street, Hollywood Land, and Grizzly Peak are accessible!
Buena Vista Street
There’s hand washing stations available around the Resort.
Trash can lids are propped open to minimize the need to have to touch the surface. Hand sanitizer is also located at many locations.
With minor variations, the repeated signage does change visual appearance to better blend into their respective lands. It’s an appreciated endeavor.
Most stores have lines to limit capacity. When lines get long, many locations switch to mobile reservation. Cast Members on hand can help guide you.
Totally ‘grammable treats celebrating the spring season are available wherever handmade treats are available! (Trolley Treats and Marceline’s Confectionary.)
Time for lunch! We had a 12:30 reservation!
