SAFETY promises to be an emotional journey when it comes out this week on Disney+ and a new behind-the-scenes look at the film released today offers a peek of what to expect from the biopic.
SAFETY stars Jay Reeves (āAll American,ā āThe Tax Collectorā) as Ray and newcomer Thaddeus J. Mixson as Fahmarr along with Corinne Foxx, Matthew Glave, Hunter Sansone, Amanda Warren, Miles Burris, Isaac Bell, Elijah Bell and James Badge Dale.
A young man facing a series of challenging circumstances, whose dedication and persistence help him to triumph over repeated adversities. Aided by his teammates and the Clemson community, he succeeds on the field while simultaneously raising and caring for his 11-year-old brother Fahmarr.
The film is directed by Reginald Hudlin (āMarshallā) and produced by Mark Ciardi, p.g.a. (āSecretariat,ā āMiracleā) and Gordon Gray (āMillion Dollar Arm,ā āThe Rookieā) with a screenplay written by Nick Santora (āThe Most Dangerous Game,ā āThe Fugitiveā). Douglas S. Jones and Campbell McIinnis served as executive producers.
The SAFETYĀ original soundtrack features score by critically acclaimed GrammyĀ®-winning jazz musician/producer and composer Marcus Miller (āMarshallā), plus the original song āHold Us Togetherā performed by GrammyĀ®-winning singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist H.E.R., which she wrote and produced in collaboration with Josiah Bassey and Dernst āDāMileā Emile II.
