This year, the sugary abode has literally been ripped from its foundations as a giant gingerbread spider suspended from the rafters takes the prized treat for its own! The spider has glowing eyes, movable mandibles and a candy stained-glass thorax! According to Disney twenty-three Fall 2018 issue, in total it measures approximately three feet tall with the house below pushing an additional three feet in height.
What goes into this year’s masterpiece?
- 12 pastry chefs (led by Assistant Pastry Chef Christina Orejel)
- 90 pounds gingerbread
- 30 pounds of confectioner’s sugar
- 10 pounds of white chocolate
- 45 pounds of fondant
