Although we didn’t have a lot of time to spend in the parks, it’s still quite easy to get a sense for the amount of things going on at the Disneyland Resort.
On this short visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, we take a look at the new AP Churro Challenge, INCREDIBLES 2 Exclusive 4D Sneak Peek, and the new menu at Flo’s V8 Cafe. We’ll also get sights on the on-going work for both the massive Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge construction, and the Pixar Pier conversion.
Churrotastic!
Disneyland’s recent food obsession of late is taking churros and turning the cinammon sugar stick concept on its side by introducing OTHER flavor combinations and that trend continues with the new AP CHURRO CHALLENGE AT PIXAR FEST. Many thanks to MI contributor DyNaH428 for the pictures in this posting!

Lamplight Lounge
Shade structures are returning to the lower levels while the Cove Bar continues operation before closing at the end of the month for conversion into the Lamplight Lounge.
Incredicoaster
Some walls have come down revealing some of the on-going work.
Gold stars have been painted red.
Jessie’s Critter Carousel
The fountain concrete has been poured partially enclosing the carousel and separating it from the INCREDIBLES themed area at the Incredicoaster.
Toy Story (Midway) Mania
Lampposts have gone yellow!
Poultry Palace
The framing is in place and the new kiosk is going to be quite massive. It seems to really throw off the scale of the rest of the area.
You can see the new building will dwarf the shade structures right next to it.
Games of the Boardwalk
Wall-E Space Race and La Luna Star Catcher game fades have been revealed.
Still more work to do for the other games.
Pixar Pal-Around
The new marquee for the attraction has been placed.

‘Incredibles 2’ Exclusive Sneak Peek
Disney California Adventure is currently playing host to an exclusive sneak peek of THE INCREDIBLES 2. The special engagement includes use of the theater’s special 4D effects that sync with the visuals. Plus, there’s also a great little set up in the lobby with concept art and character maquettes offering a behind the scenes glimpse into the making of the film.

Jack-Jack seems to really not like this raccoon as evidenced by this Rock-em Sock-Em toy.

Around the Parks
We didn’t have a lot of time to really take a thorough look around the parks but here’s a few of the things we came across since our last visit…
A new menu has debuted at Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land which now includes Ka-Cheeseburgers, Chicken Fenders, Fin-tastic Tuna Sandwich, Flo’s Famous Chicken, Cobb de Ville Salad, and Fillmore’s Pot Pie. Gone are the selection of dessert pies (although there does remain a featured pie on the menu) but the selection of shakes remain.
The Blue Place Special was delicious, it was BBQ Pork Ribs with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. $13.99.
Seasonal Strawberry Pie at Flo’s V8 Cafe is filled with Pastry Cream and fresh Strawberries, coated with Strawberry Glaze, and garnished with caramelized puffed rice. $5.39.

Tropical Hideaway
Aladdin’s Oasis has finally closed to make way for the new dining experience called The Tropical Hideaway.
We’ll take a closer look at all the beautiful artwork on the walls on our next visit. Here’s concept art for what the new area will look like:
This new experience will soon appear along the tropical shores nestled between the Jungle Cruise and “Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.” This one-of-a-kind destination will be a popular rest stop for Adventureland locals and weary explorers alike. Guests will be able to rub elbows with their favorite skippers in an exotic traders’ market, featuring all of the sights, sounds and flavors of the tropics.
