MUPPET BABIES is not too far on the horizon and Disney confirmed this week that Jenny Slate will be giving the faceless caregiver who oversees the toddler-sized Muppets. Miss Nanny is also getting an update for the times taking a decidedly younger look to her wardrobe, ditching the trademark green striped socks for some dragon-patterned leggings. She’s a decidedly hipper and quirkier Miss Nanny and we can’t wait to see more!
Also joining the cast are: Melanie Harrison (“Fish Hooks”) as Piggy; Dee Bradley Baker (“Milo Murphy’s Law”) as Animal; Ben Diskin (“The Spectacular Spider-Man”) as Gonzo; Eric Bauza (“The Adventures of Puss in Boots”) as Fozzie Bear; Jessica DiCicco (“Puppy Dog Pals”) as Summer; and rounding out the cast as Kermit is Matt Danner (“Gravity Falls”), who also serves as supervising director on the series.
The new show (co-produced by Disney Junior, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media’s (DCPI) Content & Media group, and The Muppets Studio) will be CG-animated. Each episode will feature two 11-minute stories. The iconic characters will be doing anything from building a time machine to flying through outer space. The series will be geared towards kids aged 4-7 and like other Disney Junior fare, will encourage development, highlighting creative and critical thinking.
MUPPET BABIES premieres on Disney Channel March 2018.
