D23 Destination D: Amazing Adventures is currently going on at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World and as part of “Conversation with Bob Chapek, hosted by Jeffrey Epstein” a bunch of details and tidbits were confirmed for Disney Parks, particularly for the new Pandora – The World of Avatar expansion and the yet-unnamed Star Wars Themed Land.

Pandora – The World of Avatar

He gave D23 members a sneak preview of that expansion, revealing the new entry bridge which will soon serve as an entry into the base camp of Alpha Centauri Expeditions, the eco-tour group that will host explorers on their Pandora adventure.

He also shared details of the two, new signature attractions of Avatar Flight of Passage, where guests will fly over the jungles of Pandora on a Mountain Banshee and Na’vi River Journey, a family-friendly boat ride through the bioluminescent forests. He also gave a first look at the new Satu’li Canteen, which is the main dining establishment for Pandora, featuring Na’vi art and cultural items; Windtraders, where travelers can purchase Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits, and more; and the Pongu Pongu, a drink location with a design that is as eclectic as its Expat owner.

The new land, Pandora – The World of Avatar is slated to finally open for Summer 2017.

Star Wars

He also shared a new rendering of Star Wars themed land planned for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a new adventure planned for Star Tours. The land appears to be extremely similar to the one being built at Disneyland. The new concept art released for DHS features similar concept art to its west coast version but showing how the land will take on a new look at night.

Additionally, Star Tours will be receiving a new adventure inspired by the goings on in Episode 8.

Details are sparse for Star Wars offerings although the Star Tours updates should be completed by next December when Episode 8 is slated to premiere.
