The Disneyland Resort marked its 61st Anniversary today with a special re-dedication celebration that included 61 Disney characters. The moment took place in Town Square at Disneyland commemorating the moment 61 years ago when Walt Disney welcomed the world to enjoy what would quickly become known as the Happiest Place on Earth.
To all that come to this happy place, welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. The Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration (which was launched to celebrate the 60th Anniversary) continues through September 5, 2016. There are no plans to change any of the “60” signage to reflect the proper “61” years of operation.
