The OC Register posted earlier today that Disney has finally submitted plans to add a fourth Hotel to its roster of accommodations at the Disneyland Resort.
The yet unnamed fantastical new destination would boast 700-rooms and feature a swimming area, lounge, and roof-top dining experience. Where exactly do you plop this down in already space-strapped Disneyland Resort? In the Downtown Disney Parking lot, of course.
The new plans would also come with a new parking garage that should help supplement the lost space for the resort’s hurting parking infrastructure. This new lot could begin construction as early as next year for a 2019 opening.
The plans come after last years tax-breaks created for developers wanting to build luxury resorts in the Anaheim area. The new hotel will be carefully crafted to qualify for the AAA 4-diamond rating, making it a high-end destination. Part of of the requirements for that top honor include spending at least $225,000 per guest room so you can expect quite the posh new place to rest your head.
According to the OCR, the new hotel would begin construction in 2018 to work towards a 2021 grand debut.
