Effective last Thursday, Disney Visa eliminated the complimentary 5×7 PhotoPass photo from its offerings to cardmembers. But what on the surface might seem like a purely cost-savings move, turns out to potentially be a better deal for guests. In a strange twist,  it’s a win-win for the company and guests.

Now ALL photos taken at the Cardmember-exclusive Meet ‘N’ Greet locations at Disneyland Resort are available as free digital downloads. Whereas previously the perk allowed ONE complimentary 5×7 from the moment, the modification to the perk now allows for ALL the photos to be digitally downloaded.

While this move does little for guests who have a Disney Signature, Disney Signature Plus or Disney Premier Annual Passport (who get free digital downloads of all PhotoPass photos already), it is handy perk for guests who do not have annual passes. Unlike the AP perk however, those photos are only available for download for 45 days after capture.

Thanks, Shanghai?
