FROZEN – LIVE AT THE HYPERION is just a few weeks away from its debut at Disney California Adventure and there are more and more teases being released for the new show. The newest clip focuses in on the “Love Is An Open Door” number which we recently learned will feature whimsical flying doors in a show promising to feature several great new set pieces and designs.
In this new clip, Music Director John Glaudini talks about working on the new orchestration for the iconic duet. We see him conduct the orchestra during a waltz sequence being added to layer in a bit of musical complexity to a song that was created as a pop duet.
Commenting on the show, Glaudini remarked that he’s proud to be focusing on this show which is “not afraid to be dramatic… and [wear] its heart on its sleeve”
To adapt the songs for our new stage musical, Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment partnered with award-winning music supervisor and arranger Jason Michael Webb (“The Color Purple,” “Motown: The Musical”). Web teased that there will have “new musical moments [and] exciting dance arrangements.”
