Last month, we were invited to check out the limited time engagement of INSIDE OUT at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. The historic movie palace has a reputation of delivering the ultimate cinematic experience for Disney films so seeing Disney-Pixar’s latest adventure there was a no-brainer.
If you haven’t seen INSIDE OUT yet or even if you have, you owe yourself the Joy of seeing this one while you can at the El Capitan Theatre.
Apart from seeing INSIDE OUT (and the animated short LAVA) with the theatre’s Dolby Atmos system, you can enjoy a spectacular new 3D pre-show called the MUSIC OF LIGHT. Since the show is 3D we didn’t capture it on video but you’ll have to believe us that this is an absolutely awesome bit of entertainment.
Five dancers–one representing each of the emotions from the film–are integrated into an imaginative world of amazingly crisp and depth-full 3D environments. Brought to life by “So You Think You Can Dance?” choreographer, Dave Scott, the dancers move around the stage in perfect syncronization with the visuals on the screen creating an absolutely breath-taking performance that runs you through the emotions of Joy, Fear, Anger, Sadness and Disgust.
If you just haven’t had enough of INSIDE OUT by that point, you can head next door to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop and Disney Studio Store where an assortment of film merch is available.
If you’re venturing for a sweeter ending to your day you can check out the Mixed Emotions Sundae which features a rainbow concoction of Sherbert, whipped cream and candies. The special sundae also comes with a limited edition NOW PLAYING pin for the film, while supplies last.
Want to see it for yourself?
You can catch INSIDE OUT at the El Capitan Theatre from June 19 – August 19, 2015.
