This Valentine’s Day was a very special one at the El Capitan Theatre for LADY AND THE TRAMP. Apart from the regular scheduled screening of the classic romantic Disney film, there was a special spaghetti dinner catered by Miceli’s. We were invited to be guests of this awesome VIP experience and were simply blown away by the event that we deemed absolutely adorkable!

In all, the event was very well organized and we had an absolute blast. After being seated to dinner we were treated to a few small special surprises leading up to the screening of the film. I really love when the El Capitan Theatre do these types of events and this year having the even in the lower lounge made for a really fun and intimate experience.

After the screening of LADY AND THE TRAMP, we also got to see a full screening of Disney Interactive’s BLANK: A VINYLMATION LOVE STORY. The piece is very avant garde and perhaps also due in part to the lack of any dialogue, it did seem to get lost on most of the kids. Several groups of families left half-way into the stop motion post-film feature.

Check out some photos from our wonderful evening…

With the dinner package option, a free photo is included. The photo-opp in the lobby is used creating for a really special moment.

You get the souvenir photo as you finish your meal.

For the first time since Ghirardelli took over the Studio Store next door, the El Capitan had a catered dinner from Miceli’s downstairs in their annex for Valentine’s Day weekend. It made for a suitably intimate experience, even if the groups were mostly comprised of families.

We were given cute Lady and the Tramp straws as well.

Two straws connected as one. Super cute parting gift.

To start off our meal, we had an Italian salad.

Fresh hot rolls were also brought to the table.

They had a choice of Spaghetti and Meatballs or just Spaghetti Marinara.

For dessert we had Cannoli!

As we finished our meal, we were given some sweets from Ghirardelli and a fresh long-stem red rose!

As we left the marquee was advertising the next Throw Back Thursday movie ALADDIN. ALADDIN will be playing February 20th.

THE END!
