Construction Milestones Continue at Shanghai Disney Resort

Recently, construction at Shanghai Disney Resort reached a major milestone as the first permanent concrete piles were installed for the Enchanted Storybook Castle. This magical landmark stationed at the heart of Shanghai Disneyland will be a stunning centerpiece for the park and a true sight to behold. Designed to be the world’s tallest and largest Disney castle, it will be complete with a beautiful winding staircase leading to special experiences, and a host of entertainment, dining, and performance selections for guests to enjoy.

Progress is also underway on a project that will increase the overall energy efficiency of the resort’s operations. The Shanghai Disney Resort Management Company recently announced the adoption of a leading new environmental technology in the form of the Combined Cooling, Heating, Power Plant (CCHP). The CCHP is a grid-tied, gas-fired power plant, which co-generates cooling and heating via engine waste heat, and produces compressed air by self-generated electricity. This key infrastructure project serves as just one example of Shanghai Disney Resort’s commitment to promoting sustainable technology and supporting local partners in its development.
