We visited this year’s event with hosted admission. Here’s our honest thoughts on what we thought about the haunted house mazes at 2026 Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Here’s a closer look at each of the experiences including our thoughts on how each one ranks this year.

 Wolves’ Blood

RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃

REVIEW: Hands down favorite for us. Enter vibey dive bar that’s been taken over by werewolves. Some of the best scares and sights of of the night with a really cohesive theme and awesome sets and creatures.

SYNOPSIS: Head through a remote town that has been overrun by werewolves on your way to see underground rock sensation, Wolves’ Blood. This remote location is accessible by invitation only and leads concert goers from the small-town bus stop, through ransacked stores and barroom brawls to reach The Dungeon theater for Wolves’ Blood’s first ever, live performance.

 

The Conjuring Universe

RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃⚫

REVIEW: SO MANY JUMP SCARES! Some sections were almost completely pitch black so you had no idea when or where someone was going to jump out at you. Definitely on edge the whole time with this one, especially if you love the films and know what horrible things could be lurking in the dark.

SYNOPSIS: Based on New Line Cinema’s iconic horror franchise: enter the Warrens’ occult museum where their most terrifying cases await. Face Annabelle’s malevolent stare, flee from The Nun’s unholy presence, and survive the Perron farmhouse’s demonic forces. Each cursed artifact awakens ancient evil. Tonight, you’re not just observing their cases; you’ve become part of them.

Carnage

RATING: 🎃🎃🎃⚫⚫

REVIEW: The theme was a little confusing with the clown possee run amok. It’s like being in Gotham without the threat of the caped crusader lurking in the shadows. Tons of neon and creepy clowns if you’re into that sort of thing.

SYNOPSIS: Enter the chaotic fortress of the original true villain, CARNAGE. This is your origin story, your path to becoming a disciple of the most villainous clown in a city under siege. With every step you take, you become possessed with the evil around you. If you survive, let your darkness forever rage on for CARNAGE.

Final Destination: Death’s Playground

RATING: 🎃🎃🎃⚫⚫

REVIEW: There was clearly lot of effort into recreating the movie’s atmosphere and specific scenes fans will remember from the franchise to help you feel like you were in those iconic scenes. Ultimately, not super scary, though.

Trick ‘r Treat

RATING: 🎃🎃🎃⚫⚫

REVIEW: If you’re a fan of the movie, you’ll definitely like this one, and it seems like they tried to make it scarier than last year, but it still wasn’t a favorite for us.

SYNOPSIS: In a new location, this is based on the darkly comic Halloween classic inviting you to enter into a world where tricks dominate treats, and learn the season’s rules before setting out into this twisted Candy Trail nightmare. This spine-chilling experience will test your bravery and make you think twice before trick-or-treating again.

Vault 666

RATING: 🎃🎃⚫⚫⚫

REVIEW: The maze had a dark, demonic theme with plenty of jump scares that kept the experience creepy and intense from start to finish. Deeply unsettling and creepy.

SYNOPSIS: Demonic relics and obsolete oddities are locked in an abandoned vault in this dark and sinister antique shop, with possessions many die to have. Will you make it out alive?

Willoughby’s Resurrected

RATING: 🎃⚫⚫⚫⚫

REVIEW: Possibly a bad run through considering this was one of our favorites last year. Not many jump scares. The immersion here is great with detailed sets but beyond that there wasn’t much going on here to deliver on the scares.

SYNOPSIS: The Willoughby’s family mansion tale unfolds before your eyes at this once-affluent Victorian mansion that has become a haven to evil spirits.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest amps up the terror on select Thursdays through Sundays, from September 18 to November 1, 2026.

The park will be open for daytime operations on select calendar days from 10:30 am to 7 pm, with Fright Fest running from 7 pm to 12 am on Thursdays and Sundays, and 7 pm to 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
