Return of the Living Drag: The Musical clawed, creeped, screalt, and screeched its way into the Long Beach Convention Center during Midsummer Scream 2026 with a special one-night-only command performance. Premier drag queens performed epic numbers inspired by classic horror musicals including an epic finale inspired by Phantom of the Opera.

Here’s a peek at some of the magic of Return of the Living Drag: The Musical during Midsummer Scream 2026.

Fans in attendance on August 8 were treated to the glittering assemblage which included hostess with the mostest Peaches Christ and a talented crop of sirens that included April Showers, Biqtch Puddiń, Cream, Jenniferocius, Leeko Rae, Luxe the Drag Queen, Miss Claire Voyance, Mr. He, Reel Guise (featuring Dragpool), and Selena Blackwater.

In this year’s show, something wicked this way comes. Peaches Christ is set to stage her biggest show yet, and someone or SOME *THING* is trying to stop her. As the curtain rises, mysterious accidents interrupt the biggest moment of the weekend. Will the evil forces be vanquished in time for the big show stopping finale?

Some of the shows highlighted included a breathtaking finale inspired by Phantom of the Opera, plus numbers inspired by Jekyll And Hyde, Sweeney Todd , Rocky Horror Picture Show, and even The Nightmare Before Christmas.
