THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2 is ready to strut its way onto your home screen. The return of the fan-favorite franchise sees familiar frenemies and fresh faces plus an iconic performance once again by Meryl Streep as the cinematic icon Miranda Priestly. With a hosted review copy of the film, we took at look at the exclusive bonus content including deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes featurettes.
The film was first available for purchase in Digital on June 30 and is now available in 4K UHD and Blu-ray starting July 28. The digital and physical home release promise several bonus features with a release on Blu-ray and DVD combo packs. Plus, you can get a double dose of devilishly delights with THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2-Movie Collection, a digital and DVD physical bundle featuring the original 2006 hit and its fashionably-late sequel.
This home release is fairly standard and relatively feature-light which is not a surprise for a film of this type. Surprisingly, there’s no deleted scenes here but we do get a true highlight with the delightful 3-minute Gag Reel showcasing just how infectiously goofy Anne Hathaway is contrasted with even funnier flubs from Meryl Streep breaking her stone-faced character’s facade. There’s also a robust overview of the second film with Audio Commentary that features director David Frankel, writer/EP Aline Brosh McKenna, and costume designer Molly Rogers sharing a typical assortment of anecdotes and peeks into the magic behind-the-scenes. The three additional featurettes play out as tight, albeit expected, social-ready videos taking closer looks at the film including its legacy, its costumes, and the scenes shooting in Italy. In sum, the full presentation of everything included is runway-ready but none of it is not breaking the internet.
