The 2026 Lunar New Year is under way at Disney California Adventure and we’ve got a look at everything there is to enjoy at this robust yearly tradition at the Disneyland Resort. This year, for the Year of the Horse, there’s a bunch of friends, food, and fun to be had across the park.

Tasty New Year

A ton of flavors are packed into the park creating a miniature food festival. Several fan favorites have returned and new menu options are available to tempt the palate. Check out full menus with prices plus our thoughts on what we tried in our guide below.

The stand out for us this year was the Bulgogi Fries while some of our other favorites included Scallion Pancake Tostada, Quesabirria Eggroll, Char Siu BBQ Pork Bao, Taro Vietnamese Cold Brew, and Strawberry Milk Tea Macaron.

Entertainment

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession and Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration are two fan-favorite offerings returning to celebrate the Lunar New Year. You’ll enjoy Mulan and Mushu along with other Disney friends and several performers entertain by day while the evenings come to life ahead of the start of World of Color with a cute tale of a little lantern.

A bunch of Disney friends are on hand to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Around the park you never know who you might see. Plus, throughout the day, enjoy live entertainment at the Paradise Gardens bandstand with a rotating roster of offerings.

Character Greets

Some of the characters you can expect to see include Mickey and Minnie in their colorful outfits inspired by traditional Korean attire. Plus, Mulan and Mushu are also ready to greet guests and strike a pose along with Horace Horsecollar who is celebrating the year of the Horse this year.

Other friends you can spot include Meilin Lee from Disney-Pixar’s TURNING RED in red panda form plus Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Clarabelle Cow, Goofy, and more. Details on how to find each of them can be found below.

Live Performances

Vocal Seoul (a cappella Korean pop) can be found at Sonoma Terrace while and other authentic Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese dancers and musicians can also be seen at Paradise Gardens Bandtand including Jie Ma (fusion of Chinese and global sounds), Fortunes (fusion of traditional Chinese and modern sounds), and Lạc Hồng Performing Arts Group (showcasing Vietnamese vocal and instrumental music).

Always check the Disneyland app on the day of your visit for the most updated showtimes but typical showtimes for live entertainment at Paradise Garden Bandstand are 12:10 PM, 1:10 PM, 2:10 PM, 3:40 PM, 4:40 PM, 5:40 PM.

Magic Key Extras

Under the Silly Symphony, Swings Magic Key holders can find an exclusive photo backdrop and some additional tables to lounge. Plus, for a limited time, a keepsake button giveaway for a limited time featuring artwork by Disney artist Ann Shen.

Activities

Several activities are available to help celebrate the Lunar New Year. The Lucky Wishing Wall is back again, you can write out your wishes for the new year and share it on the decorative wall.

Skilled Chinese calligraphy artists are a fan favorite every year honoring the art of creating Chinese characters with brushed ink on red paper. These beautiful creations are complimentary keepsakes and you can choose the symbol you’d like to honor for the new year.

A selection of must-have merchandise items commemorating the Lunar New Year are available all around the Disneyland Resort.
