Pass Member Holiday Park Takeover returned for the 2025 season with a heaping dose of cheer for eligible Pass Members with reservations at Universal Studios Hollywood. As in previous years, the event offered a packed lineup of everything the holiday season has to offer crammed into a tight evening schedule. We had the chance to visit on December 4, 2025.

What to Expect

This year’s Pass Member Holiday Park Takeover at Universal Studios Hollywood took place on two nights, December 1 and 4, running from 7 pm – 11 pm each night. Only Pass Members with a valid pass and event reservation were allowed to attend and they were allowed to do so even if their pass level was otherwise blocked out for the day.

There was no cost to attend the event although parking was not included unless you already had that entitlement with your annual pass. A dedicated Pass Member Special Event turnstile was located at the Front Gate for entry and to receive the event credential. Credentials could also be picked up from inside the park at the main entrance. Re-entry was NOT allowed so if you exited the park, you were not able to get back in after the regular park hours had ended.

Event Schedule

Grinchmas at Universal Plaza

Universal Plaza has limited capacity. First come, first served. Universal asks that guests please exit after each show for others to enjoy.

  • Storytime with Cindy-Lou Who: 8:25 pm, 9:25 pm
  • The Fa-Who 4-As Show: 7:40 pm, 8:45 pm, 9:45 pm
  • Tree Lighting and Wintery Snowfall: 7:20 pm, 8:05 pm, 9:05 pm, 10:05 pm
  • Meet-and-Greet with The Grinch & Max: Various times throughout the night
    • The Grinch is also at Jurassic Cove located above Jurassic Cafe

Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

  • Frog Choir: 7:15 pm, 8:15 pm, 9:15 pm
  • The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle: 7:45 pm, 8:45 pm, 9:45 pm

Attractions

  • World-Famous Studio Tour: Last tram departs at 9:15 pm
  • Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge: Closes at 10:15 pm

Platinum and Gold Annual Pass discount benefits apply as normal. Silver Annual Pass and Season Pass Members will receive a special limited-time increase. As always, subject to change and restrictions apply.
