The Interactive Lanterns are back at Knott’s Scary Farm for the 2025 season and this year they’re packing haptic vibration feedback plus immersion not just all around the park but also at Six Flags Fright Fest, too! The 2025 lantern is mostly identical to the ones released in previous years but can be distinguished with a black ghost icon printed on the light-up portion.

What to Expect

Interactive Lanterns are newly updated for 2025 and available for $47.99 at various locations around the park. The special lanterns detect and activate special moments at dozens of areas spread across mazes, scare zones, park displays, and even inside the Legacy Haunt Store. This year, the lanterns have also been outfitted with haptic feedback. Plus, your lantern will also work if you visit Six Flags Magic Mountain for their Fright Fest event.

In default state, the lantern glows yellow and is ready to interact with immersive areas around the park. With a flip of the switch at the bottom, the the lantern can be switched to green which is the tagging mode which lets you interact with and (temporarily) change the color of other lanterns nearby to red.

Where to Buy

You can pick up interactive lanterns all over the property including Cordy’s Corner, Factory Store, Legacy Store, Virginia’s Gift Shop, and at various kiosks around the park.

Where to Activate

Knott’s Scary Farm returns for 30 frightful nights from September 18 – November 1, 2025. Event dates follow:

  • September: 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28
  • October: 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31
  • November: 1

Knott’s Scary Farm is open 7 p.m.–2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 7 p.m.–1 a.m. on select Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
