The Her Universe Fashion Show took over San Diego’s Manchester Grand Hyatt for an absolutely wicked evening dedicated to geek couture, celebrating a myriad of fandoms but especially Universal Studios’ WICKED. As with every year, Ashley Eckstein’s landmark event puts an emphasis fans, fun, and creativity.

Here’s a look at everything we enjoyed at the 2025 Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic-Con!

Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein cohosted this year with Broadway’s Michael James Scott. In total, 25 designers were tasked to participate creating looks inspired by iconic fandoms including the evening’s theme of “Defying Fashion: Fashion That Defies Expectations.” The top prize? The opportunity to design a special apparel collection with Her Universe!

Once again, there were two winners this year:

  • Judges Pick was Lynleigh Sato with her look “Poppy’s Hues of Happiness”
  • Audience Pick was Caitlin Beards with her kook “Couture of the Dead”.

Judges included Marissa Bode, Nessa Rose in Wicked and active disability rights advocate; Marc Malkin, Senior Editor at Variety, Culture and Events; Robin Motts, SVP of Hot Topic Merchandising; and also Wes Jenkins and Candice Miller who were last year’s 2024 Her Universe Fashion Show winners.
