ALIEN: EARTH has made first contact at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 and the upcoming series debuting on FX featured not just a haunt-style immersive experience but a full panel with cast and crew.

Here’s everything we learned from the Alien: Earth panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025.

The panel was moderated by Joanna Robinson and the featured panelists included Noah Hawley, David Zucker, Sydney Chandler, Sam Lincoln, Babu Ceesay, Alex Lo, and Kit Young.

Here’s some of the highlights.

• Noah Hawley said the show’s Alien set (the Majino) was built to the specifications of the original Nostromo
  • He said the 8-hour TV format for this allows deeper character journeys and sustained tension versus the two-hour survival format of films
  • He discussed creating new monsters to recapture the terror and discovery of Alien’s original life cycle, emphasizing the challenge of maintaining that genetic revulsion
  • He highlighted Thailand as a filming location for its hospitality, Buddhist culture, and visually unfamiliar skyline for Western audiences
  • He clarified a fan question that there’s no current involvement with Alien vs. Predator, but praised Dan Trachtenberg’s Prey and upcoming Predator: Badlands
• David Zucker revealed Ridley Scott’s team had long avoided an Alien TV project due to scale, until FX and Hawley’s vision made it possible
• Joanna Robinson noted that by episode 3 or 4, the most haunting scenes are quiet, intimate character moments—not just scares
• Sydney Chandler got emotional about leading an Alien franchise project, calling it a surreal, lifelong dream
• Babu Ceesay described walking onto the recreated Nostromo set as a moment where 100 people turned into kids
  • He said his cyborg character is like an “iPhone 1 in an iPhone 20 world”
• Sam Lincoln said working with Noah was “a dream,” during the six-month shoot in Thailand
  • He described his trillionaire character as someone who views everything and everyone around him as his property—barefoot by choice and inspired by Peter Pan references
• The Xenomorph in the show is portrayed by an actor in a suit (not CGI), which the cast said heightened realism and fear during night shoots
  • The actor inside the Xenomorph suit, Cameron, was affectionately described as a soft-spoken, vegan New Zealander.
• Alien: Earth premieres on Hulu on August 12, 2025
