Scavenger hunt seek and find activities are the still a popular fad at the Disneyland Resort and for the 70th Anniversary celebration, a new Key to Disneyland experience will have guests roaming every land of the Happiest Place on Earth on a quest to unlock the magic… and a keepsake Disney trading pin!

Here’s everything you need to know about the Key to Disneyland scavenger hunt at Disneyland.

What to Expect

With the Key to Disneyland, you can visit the magical realms of the park to unlock the magic. Once you’ve accessed all nine portals, head to the Disneyland Main Entrance where you can complete your quest and unlock 1 of 9 commemorative pins that are only available through this experience.

Do you  have to complete the quest to get your pin? While the pin IS already inside of your Key to Disneyland when you buy it, you do need to complete the quest in order to unlock the compartment in which it sits. However, we have confirmed ourselves that there is a small pinhole in the key which you can use to unlock the key yourself from any location.

Additionally, we were told you can go to World of Disney in Downtown Disney where they should have a pin for you to unlock the device if you decide not to complete the quest.

How to Participate

  1. Purchase your Key to Disneyland at select shops in Disneyland Park or at World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District. If you’re curious how much it costs, the key is available for $59.99
  2. Explore Disneyland Park, looking for the 70th Celebration lock station in each land. Insert your Key to Disneyland into each lock to reveal an icon and activate light effects and music for that land on your key.
  3. Unlock magic in all 9 lands in Disneyland Park. Upon completion, head to the main entrance to Disneyland to complete your quest and unlock more surprises—including 1 of 9 commemorative trading pins!

Where to Start

Head to any of the landmark 70th Celebration lock station kiosks to start your journey and make sure to visit all 9 locations to help Mickey unlock the magic.

  1. Main Street, U.S.A.: Disneyland Fire Station
  2. Adventureland: Aladdin’s Lamp inside Adventureland Bazaar in
  3. New Orleans Square: In-between the restrooms and entrance into Club 33
  4. Bayou Country: Outside of Pooh Corner
  5. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: Across from Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  6. Frontierland: Wilderness Expeditions and Delivery Service Wagon (near the entrance to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge)
  7. Mickey’s Toontown: Across from Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin
  8. Fantasyland: Fantasy Faire
  9. Tomorrowland: Near the exit of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

Where to Redeem

Once you’ve unlocked the magic in all nine lands, head back to the main entrance of Disneyland.

  • Find the Mickey Topiary Finale lock station by the entrance to Disneyland Park (near the Newsstand and tunnel)
  • Your key will unlock some more surprises including 1 of 9 commemorative trading pins!

Know Before You Go

  • The Key to Disneyland interactive park experience will only be available during the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration—starting May 16, 2025.
  • The Key to Disneyland and associated trading pins are not refundable, exchangeable or returnable.
  • Your key will save your progress and remember which locks you’ve already visited.
  • You have until the end of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary celebration to complete your quest. That means you can spread out your quest across multiple days.
  • Commemorative trading pins are not available for separate purchase.
  • Intended for ages 4 and up
  • Theme park reservations and valid admission for Disneyland Park are required for entry.
