With the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration fully underway, the Mouse is making sure all guests know that there’s a special to-do going on with fanciful decorations all around the Happiest Place on Earth, Disney California Adventure, and beyond.
Here’s a look at the decorations adorning the Disneyland Resort during the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration.
EDITOR’S NOTE: This posting was updated with additional photos on 7/5
At Disneyland
No visit to Disneyland is complete without passing by the iconic Mickey Floral which features a celebrational decor piece at the train station and is surrounded by flowers in the magenta and purple hues that can be seen in much of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary decor package.
On Main Street, USA
Central Plaza gets an expected ornamental decor piece that can be photographed from both sides making it a popular photo-op and a memorable way to commemorate a visit during the 70th — it features Mickey and Minnie. Colorful bunting in the signature jewel tone colors of pink, blue, and yellow add more festive flair as you enter the park. They’re also hung from the Main Street vehicles including the Omnibus, Horseless Carriage, Horse-drawn Streetcar, and even the Fire Truck.
Sleeping Beauty Castle
The iconic centerpiece of the Happiest Place on Earth is sporting a celebrational look. Along with decorations on Main Street, USA, Sleeping Beauty Castle is dressed in colorful banners on its moat and on the bunting across the drawbridge entrance.
The fountains that first debuted for the DIsney100 celebration seem to not be in use, at least as of opening weekend.
Character Outfits
The whole gang is getting in on the fun for the 70th Anniversary Celebration which means you’ll be able to find special outfits on Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Chip & Dale, Goofy, Clarabelle Cow, and Pluto. You can meet and greet with them or see them in select shows, learn more below.
At Disney California Adventure
Similar decor pieces come to Buena Vista Street with bunting and lamppost decorations in jewel tone blue, pinks, and yellows. Christmas Tree Point also gets a decoration piece similar to Disneyland but this one features Donald and Goofy.
Buena Vista Street
Carthay Circle
The focal anchor for Buena Vista Street also gets some new banners and a large decorative piece with the 70th icon on it.
The entire facade becomes a canvas upon which nightly performances of the Celebrate Happy: A Little Bit of Magic Every Night projection show.
At Downtown Disney
Lamppost decorations and additional signage adds more festive flair at Downtown Disney while the shopping district is also doted with several photo ops similar to the ones in the parks. You can find a Little Mermaid one with Ariel, Flounder, and Sebastian; a Frozen one with Anna and Elsa; a Lion King one with Simba and Nala; Finding Nemo with Nemo, Marlin and Dory; and Stitch and Angel. Similar to the ones in the parks, these can all be triggered for a bit of extra magic with a MagicBand+.
Around the Resort
Disneyland Monorail
Traversing through the entire Disneyland Resort, you might spot Monorail Red which features a Disneyland 70th Anniversary wrap.
Disposable Paper Goods
Drink cups and popcorn containers, and other similar disposable paper goods have also been updated to reflect colorful new artwork promoting the Disneyland 70th anniversary.
Esplanade
A colorful castle music box takes up the center space in-between both parks. A sleepy playlist of Disney songs in a lullaby tone feels at odds with the vibrant colors and the general theme that invites guests to “Celebrate Happy.” Turrets on the castle commemorate the original five lands of Disneyland and are adorned with charms representing the various adventures available in those respective lands.
Disneyland Hotel
The Disneyland Hotel is showing up in style to represent the 70th anniversary with lamppost banners, a new entrance rug and mural plus a medallion decoration piece by the pool.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
The deluxe hotel destination gets a classy decor piece that fits right at home with the rustic craftsman style lobby, centered over the hearth.
See it for Yourself
The Disneyland 70th Anniversary celebration takes place from May 16, 2025 through summer 2026.
