After years of reports and social media postings of rambunctious rogue teens taking over Six Flags Fright Fest events at Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM), it seems the park will be implementing a policy not unlike one from its new sister-parks in California, Knott’s Berry Farm.

Six Flags outlined the policy for Magic Mountain’s 2024 Fright Fest Extreme event in an email that went out to its subscribers.

The safety of our guests and associates has always been our top priority at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We are committed to keeping our park a place where thrill-seekers of all ages can come together to enjoy a one-of-a-kind park full of fun experiences.

As part of that commitment, we are implementing a chaperone policy during Fright Fest Extreme beginning Saturday, September 7, 2024.

Under this policy, all guests age 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old in order to be admitted to, or remain in, the park during Fright Fest Extreme after 4:00pm local time to park close. The chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo identification with date of birth at ticket entry. One (1) chaperone may accompany no more than ten (10) guests age 15 or younger per day. In addition, the chaperone must accompany their party during entry, remain inside the park during their visit and be available by phone throughout their stay.

Guests age 15 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone when the Chaperone Policy is in effect will be subject to ejection. This chaperone requirement applies to all Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest Extreme one-day ticket and Season Pass holders.

We believe these changes will help ensure that Six Flags Magic Mountain continues to have a positive atmosphere where thrill-seekers can gather for a day of safe, fun, and thrilling experiences.
