It was confirmed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event that Disney and Pixar’s animated classic COCO will be coming to life at the Disneyland Resort as an incredible new attraction.

Here’s everything we learned at the Disney Experiences Showcase at the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

The showcase for Disney Experiences at the Honda Center was hosted Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences (AKA head of Parks and Resorts). Fresh from the Land of the Dead, the villainous Ernesto de la Cruz took to the stage to sing the classic “Remember Me” ahead of some seriously awesome announcements.

Disney confirmed that the new attraction (shown in concept art as a boat ride) will be filled with the characters from the film and noted that music will be just as important to the attraction as it was in the film. Get ready for songs you know and love from the beloved movie and possibly some new ones as you join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead.

Commenting on the unique cast of characters, Josh said “We’re bringing our skeletal cast of characters to life in a big way through the latest Audio-Animatronics technology. These figures will appear in ways you’ll have to see to believe.”
