PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS took the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event by storm during a panel that included cast and crew appearances and surprise announcements and reveals.

Here’s a look at everything we experienced at the PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS panel at the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event

What We Learned

  • The panel was moderated by Juju Green, AKA Straw Hat Goofy on Tiktok, who is a huge fan of the show and books.
  • Panelists included series stars Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), with Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan) and Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue) who join as series regulars this season, alongside executive producers Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz, and Craig Silverstein;
  • Surprise appearances from Toby Stephens (Poseidon), Jason Mantzoukas (Mr. D/Dionysus), and Daniel Diemer (Tyson).
  • The panel marked the first public appearance of all six of the season-two series regulars together. Mantzoukas also confirmed that he’ll return as Camp Half-Blood’s camp director Mr. D.
  • Season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is based on The Sea of Monsters, the second installment of Disney Hyperion’s bestselling Percy Jackson book series by acclaimed author Rick Riordan.
  • It was announced that the Gray Sisters would be in the upcoming season. Played by Sandra Bernhard as Anger, Kristen Schaal as Tempest, and Margaret Cho as Wasp. 
  • Daniel Diener made a surprise appearance as recently being Cast as Tyson the Cyclops, Percy half brother. 
  • Adam Copeland who plays ares on the show surprised guests. He teased about the upcoming season and the dynamic between Percy and his half brother Tyson.
  • Jason Mantzoukas also surprised the crowd with his amazing energy. Saying this next season will definitely be showing more of the camp.
  • From Disney Branded Television and 20th Television, production on the Disney+ Original series is currently underway in Vancouver for a 2025 debut on Disney+. More casting news to come.
  • Everyone who attended the panel got a Half blood camp shirt!
