After its first official performance was canceled due to wind, the Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks soundtrack debuted in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland on Saturday April, 6 and we’ve got full video! The music is available for a limited time as part of Disney’s Season of the Force celebration of all things Star Wars.
This guide will arm you with everything you need to know about Fire of the Rising Moons.
EDITOR’S NOTE: This posting was updated with additional information on 11/4 and 8/25
About the Show
We’ve had many questions about this “new” show so we will help clarify exactly what it is (and isn’t) and how to enjoy it so you can make the best choice during your visit.
What the Show IS NOT:
- A new show that plays throughout the whole park
- A separate fireworks show from the evening’s regularly-scheduled fireworks
What the Show IS:
- A new orchestration of music that only plays in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
- A soundtrack that was created to sync with the evening’s regularly-scheduled fireworks
To sum up: the only way to hear the soundtrack is from within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during the park’s regularly-scheduled fireworks show. If there are no fireworks scheduled for for the evening, then there will be no presentation of Fire of the Rising Moons. This special soundtrack will NOT be played anywhere else except within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The soudntrack features selections from composer John Williams’ Star Wars film scores in addition to new music. As an extra plus, MagicBand+ is being integrated with colorful lights and ambient vibrations synced with various moments throughout the show.
Viewing Guide
Although fireworks have been visible within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge since the land opened, there has not been synchronized music to pair with the pyrotechnics. The conceit of the land being an in-world part of the Star Wars universe meant that — unlike anywhere else in the park where fireworks are visible — no fireworks soundtracks was featured to accompany the fireworks. This new soundtrack gives context for the fireworks by creating an in-world reason for the nighttime spectacular.
As with any fireworks show at Disneyland, you’ll usually want to arrive at least an hour before showtime to secure your spot — longer if you’re picky about your view!
Dining Package Reserved Viewing Areas
For $89 per person you can opt for a dessert dining package in front of Docking Bay 7. The raised platform over the Millennium Falcon provides a great view of the fireworks rising over the peaks of the Black Spire Outpost. Included with your package is standing access to a patio, a souvenir sipper, and a selection desserts and food items.
The experience is called Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Nighttime Gathering and you can book by going to the dining page for Docking Bay 7 in the Disneyland app or on the official website.
Standard Viewing Areas
There’s a few places in which you can see fireworks and enjoy the new soundtrack.
- Black Spire Spaceport, near Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- TIE Echelon docking platform, near First Order Cargo
- Speeder Garage, near Droid Depot
Scheduled Dates and Versions
Because the soundtrack is orchestrated to work in sync with the existing fireworks show, that means that there are multiple versions of the Fire of the Rising Moons show based on which fireworks are being presented in the park. During the run of Season of the Force 2024, there are actually three separate fireworks shows being presented which means there are three variations of the Fire of the Rising Moons soundtrack.
Below is the scheduled dates of the upcoming fireworks shows. Each show will bring a different variation of the Fire of the Rising Moons soundtrack with different music and clips for each variation.
- Wondrous Journeys: April 5 through Sunday, April 14
- Mickey’s Mix Magic with fireworks: April 19, 20, 21, 24
- Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular with fireworks: Expected weekends from April 26 – August 4
- Halloween Screams: Most nights August 25 – October 31, 2024

Fire of the Rising Moons (Wondrous Journeys version)
The first official show took place on April 6, 2024. An unannounced public preview took place on Wednesday, April 3. The inaugural debut of the show on April 5 was canceled due to wind.
Fire of the Rising Moons (Together Forever version)
Ahead of the debut of Together Forever during Pixar Fest, Disney had a special sneak peek of the new show which means Batuu had its own new version of the show, as well. We were there on April 20th to capture the show. This is the version of the show that you can enjoy through the rest of the summer until Pixar Fest ends on August 4.
The soundtrack for this version of the show focuses largely on the “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Suite” score that John Williams created for the new land plus it features extended moments with the “The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme) ” as well as the iconic “Duel of the Fates” from the prequels.
