The thought of visiting a theme park for $40 in this day and age is unheard of but with SCREAM BREAK at Six Flags Magic Mountain, the price is right — and and the monsters are ready to bite! The separately-ticketed event brings after-hour access to the park with two haunted mazes, scare zones, dance parties, and access to select attractions.

With hosted admission, we were able to check out the SCREAM BREAK 2024 taking place Fridays – Saturdays from March 22 – April 13, 2024.

What to Expect

Once again, Six Flags Scream Break has a lot going for it. First and foremost, a $40 ticket into any sort of all-night event seems increasingly likely in today’s landscape. While this is definitely not a full-fledged haunt even, it still a nice pre-show of sorts for the big frights to come later this year and price tag matches that offering.

20240323_210915Although parking is not included this year with admission, the event still seems like a worthy jaunt for a little haunt. We were hosted this year but we can confidently say that the event feels worth its admission price but ONLY if you do intend to ride some of the coasters during the night. There’s enough here to keep you entertained and the lines were short enough to allow repeat visits for both the attractions and the mazes — especially towards the end of the night.

It’s important to know that while you can get into the park as early as 7:30pm, Scream Break officially opens at 9pm so the time in-between is considered a haunted mixer. At the beginning of the night, the event might feel crowded but once the ropes drop and access to the full offerings are available, the event really spaces out to a less chaotic vibe.

The Mazes

There’s two mazes included as part of the event offerings. Condemned: House Party and Saw which bring a fun mix of camp and gore.

Condemned: House Party

As in previous years, this is pure camp and a lot of fun. This creaky old condemned house has become homebase for the most epic toga party rager. Expect familiar haunts and scares but with a Spring Break twist.

Saw

After debuting last year, the SAW maze returns with the heavy dose of gore from the films come to life before your eyes. This one doesn’t carry the college scream break vibe but is a great complement to the scares.

Dining and Shopping

Monstrous sips are available from locations around the park or you can stop by the Coffin Bar near the mazes and sink your teeth into sangria blood bags. Select merch is also available to celebrate the event. The prices might be the scariest part of the evening! Be warned! Plus, you should plan on eating before coming in as the park’s food offerings are basic and pricey.
