Every year, Disney California Adventure celebrates the Lunar New Year with a beautiful procession that features Mulan along with dancers, drummers, and other Disney friends. This year, in celebration of the year of the Dragon, Mushu gets a special callout as the special guest for Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession.

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession is a lot smaller than a typical parade at Disney Parks hence it’s name as a “procession.” It features single float upon which Mulan and Mushu can be found along with other Disney friends including Chip and Dale. The beginning and ending of the parade is filled out with performers including flower dancers, ribbon dancers, dragon performers, and performers doing choreographed moves inspired by martial arts.

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession is performed along the performance corridor with typical showtimes at 12:45 PM, 2:30 PM 5:00 PM, and 6:45 PM. The small procession (which Disney doesn’t officially call a parade or cavalcade) traverses Disney California Adventure from Hollywood Land to the Pixar Pier parade gate at the back of the park. The first parade of the day begins in Hollywood Land and the direction of the procession alternates for each showtime so depending on how close you are to the starting point dictates how long you’ll wait for the procession to arrive.
