Midsummer Scream is always an exciting pre-launch to the fall haunt season and Long Beach Convention Center is once again ready to play host to all the terror-ific fun.

The theme for the three-day event this year is “Ghoulish Games” and attendees can expect an enormous array of horror-themed games-from video and role-playing games to board and tabletop games. All of this in addition to special panels, the trademark Hall of Shadows, and much more!

Here’s a taste of what you can expect for Midsummer Scream 2023

Panels, Presentations and Performances

Spanning across five stages and multiple breakout rooms find in-depth, close-up looks at the best in haunts, horror and fandom. Highlights include:

  • Sneak peeks at what’s coming this Halloween season from Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights and Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest plus Thirteenth Floor Entertainment who are the creators of the L.A. Haunted Hayride, Delusion, and Shaqtoberfest.
  • The Lost Boys reunion panel featuring actors Jason Patric, Alex Winter and Billy Wirth

Hall of Shadows

A stunning array of haunts from local and regional creators of some of the best haunted attractions in the world. Professional and home haunters alike come together to create more than 75,000 square feet of frights, bringing to life the most unique (and uniquely terrifying) fan-convention attraction anywhere.


Midsummer Scream After Dark Party

  • A special Saturday-night party, replete with dancing, a costume contest, cocktails and games.
  • Separate, paid admission is required for all except for those with Gold Bat Pass package.
