MagicBand+ is coming to Disney Cruise Line except when voyagers embark on board the wearable tech will be known by a new name: DisneyBand+. Visually they are identical to MagicBand+ functionally they will offer many of the same amenities.

Here’s a look at what features will be available starting summer 2023.

What to Know

There will be three Disney Cruise Line-exclusive designs to choose from, DisneyBand+. The new bands are NOT included with your cruise fare and will require separate cost. It’s important to know, your existing MagicBand+ tech can also be used on board — so there’s no need to get new hardware.

Once on board, your DisneyBand+ or MagicBand+ will offer the ability to:

• Unlock your stateroom door
• Charge on-board spending to your payment card on your stateroom folio
• Children ages 3 and up can also use their bands in lieu of the Oceaneer Club Band to access kids’ clubs including Disney’s Oceaneer Club while onboard and Scuttle’s Cove at Castaway Cay
• Access Disney PhotoPass which is linked back to your stateroom making it easy to view and purchase photos during your cruise
• Access enchanting surprises and extra moments of magic similar to experiences found in the Disney Parks
