Starting April 1, 2023, SkyPark at Santa’s Village is ready to welcome guests back to Sky Forest for more alpine outdoor adventures but not after first being a part of spreading a bit of Christmas spirit to help its local community.
Following the enormous amounts of snowfall as a result of unusual California winter storms at the end of February, the entire mountain community was closed off to non-residents and Governor Newsom declared a state of emergency. The park became a command center for SoCal Gas, Edison, and heavy machinery operators who worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure the safety of mountain residents and restore operations.
The back-to-back storms produced over 8 feet of snow and buried the park and its surrounding towns. The past few weeks have been focused on storm recovery and community support. Over at SkyPark Camp + RV Resort, volunteer pilots delivered over 14,000 pounds of food and supplies via helicopter through CalDART.
