Expanding on their existing tribute to Frederick Douglass at the Main Street Opera House, Disneyland has unveiled a new 9-minute documentary featuring narration by ABC anchor Robin Roberts. It debuted in celebration of Black History Month.
The new Frederick Douglass tribute shares the story of the historic relationship between Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln with testimonials from Douglass’ third great-grandson Kenneth B. Morris, Jr., and Dr. John Stauffer, a leading expert on anti-slavery and the Civil War era.
The video was produced in collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering, National Geographic, and the Disneyland Resort PULSE Business Employee Resource Group (BERG), which advocates for cast members of African and Caribbean descent and backgrounds.
The experience takes place as a pre-show ahead of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
A new poster outside the attraction advertises the new addition.
