We’re old enough to remember how awesome the “Epic Mickey” franchise was, but many of today’s younger Nintendo Switch players probably don’t because, well, the first installment debuted 13 years ago, and there was no Nintendo Switch! Just a good old-fashioned Nintendo Wii. While Mickey has appeared recently appeared in 2019’s Kingdom Hearts III, it’s been a while since our favorite pal has been featured in a standalone game on consoles.

Now, the wait will soon be over! If you couldn’t already tell, it’s only if you own a Nintendo Switch and that game is DISNEY ILLUSION ISLAND!

The local cooperative 2D platform adventure video game for up to four players, will debut exclusively for Nintendo Switch. and was showcased last year during the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase at D23 2022 and featured this year at Nintendo Direct. Gamers will have the opportunity to embark on a brand-new adventure as Mickey Mouse makes his triumphant return to video games – and this time, he’s bringing a few friends! Play as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy and set off on a perilous quest to explore the colorfully hand-crafted and yet mysterious island of Monoth in an escapade to recover three magical Tomes – powerful books used to protect the island.

Featuring the voice actors of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy and an original orchestral score, players can immerse themselves in a solo adventure or team up with up to three friends in local co-op to use special team skills such as Rope Drop, Leap Frog, and a heart gifting Hug to save the island. Discover rich biomes and never-before-seen environments, meet strange yet intriguing characters, and uncover hidden secrets galore!
