We already know that Princess Tiana is taking over the flumes of the popular Splash Mountain attraction with a beautiful brand-new adventure but signage at the currently-closed Le Bat en Rouge shop New Orleans Square seems to have something else in mind for the heroine of Disney Animation’s THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG.

Lace curtains block views inside of the former shop and green signage with purple lettering teases:

  • Something new is cooking!
  • Gumbo is the spice of life.
  • Set a table! Set a stage! Dress the part! Start a rage!

There’s been rumors of Tiana’s Palace taking over the Hungry Bear in anticipation of the upcoming retheme for Splash Mountain. The location would certainly make sense to serve up some of Tiana’s bees-knees cooking and it would definitely be a perfect location for a princess dining location set amongst the beautiful existing greenery of the area.

But is something smaller moving into this small tucked away corner of the park? It certainly does not seem like there’s much room for a new eatery (or much of anything other than a store) so what could the princess be cooking up? Our best guest is maybe the Mint Julep Bar (which already serves man-catchin’ beignets) could start selling gumbo and be re-themed to PRINCESS AND THE FROG?

Time will tell! Until then we’ll try to dig a little deeper and see what we can find out!
