Disney is no stranger to environmental stewardship as a core part of its global mission and today they announced a new way they will continue that commitment with new plastic-free packaging. It is expected to roll out soon to shopDisney.com and Disney stores in North America plus both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. It will eventually become available at global locations later this year.
The new plastic-free packaging is made of sustainably sourced paper that is 100% recyclable, and it’s also supposed to be much easier to open. The first place we’ll start to see this new eco-friendly packaging is on the line of classic Disney dolls. The collection includes 15 classic characters such as Queens Anna and Elsa, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Moana, Tiana and more!
For an even friendlier eco solution, Disney is also suggesting that the packaging is suitable for re-use with printed artwork that can serve as backgrounds for playtime or even usage of the packaging as a storage box for other playthings or crafts.
Pretty cool, right?
