Disney Cruise Line announced that Minnie Mouse will proudly emblazon the bow of their upcoming ship: the Disney Wish. The bow’s elegant filigree art, a hallmark of Disney Cruise Line vessels, will includes an intricate scrollwork pattern reminiscent of the classic ocean liners of the 1930s with a portrait of Captain Minnie adding whimsy to the design!
Captain Minnie Mouse made a big splash in 2019 as part of a collection of initiatives aiming to inspire the next generation of female leaders in the cruise industry. And with Captain Minnie at the helm of the Disney Wish, the hope is to continue inspiring girls and young women around the globe!
The news comes on a significant construction milestone on the Disney Wish marked by the traditional keel laying ceremony. During a ship’s construction, when the first block, or section of a ship, is lowered into the building dock, a newly minted coin is placed under the keel for good fortune. The coin created for the Disney Wish features none other than … you guessed it, Captain Minnie!

Disney has made several announcements about the ship including a reveal of Rapunzel on the stern of he ship as well as Disney’s work on a new private island destination called Lighthouse Pointe.
