The Lunar New Year is here with the zodiacs showing that it is the Year of the
Rat Mouse and Disney California Adventure is ready to celebrate in style! The cherished holiday tradition returns once more to the Happiest Place on Earth with a fantastic festival featuring fine feastables, fortuitous findables, and fascinating spectacles celebrating the wonders of China, Korea, and Vietnam.

Tasty New Year
A ton of flavors have been packed into the park creating a miniature food festival of sorts to ensure a tasty new year. Several fan favorites have returned and new menu options are available to tempt the palate all around the park. It was so much food we had to do a whole separate posting about it which you can see below.
Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession
The charming presentation features Mulan and Mushu along with Mickey, Minnie and their pals who accompany a series of dancers and musicians in this beautiful little pageant. It really is a must-see offering.
Live Daily Performances
Melody of China and other authentic Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese dancers and musicians can also be seen as part of the celebration.
“Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration”
A heartwarming nighttime water show at Paradise Bay prior to “World of Color” which tells the tale of a little lantern’s quest to reunite with family for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune. Guests will be delighted to see Mulan as a part of the little lantern’s journey.
Fashion designer Guo Pei collaborated with Disney to create beautiful new costumes for Mickey and Minnie and they are ready to snap pics with you in the fashionable new threads. You can also see them in the Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession.
Mulan and Mushu are also ready to greet guests and wish them a lucky and happy new year.
You never know who might show up for the festivities! Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale or even the Three Little Pigs have all been known to be seen during the festival!
No free face painting this year but you can pay to get these designs.
The Lucky Wishing Wall is back again, you can write out your wishes for the new year and share it here.
Crafts are available for the littles and the young at heart. Last year, they made these cute little lanterns.
