The global Force Friday II merchandise event comes tomorrow but thanks to a bunch of new product teases and announcements we got our first look at a new droid we can expect to see in the upcoming STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI. His name is BB-9E and if he looks familiar that’s because he’s a newer model of 2015’s breakout star droid BB-8.
BB-9E is “part of the astromech unit of the First Order that keep their starships and machinery operational,” according to the Force Friday II kick off announcement in Australia. Fans can meet him both in toy form as well as in AR (augmented reality) as part of Force Friday II events around the world.
To meet BB-9E in AR, use the Find the Force pop-up treasure hunt feature in the Star Wars app, and visiting participating retail locations. While there, you can take advantage of your location and browse all of the new STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI products that Force Friday II has to offer.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI lands in theaters December 15, 2017.
