The 89th Academy Awards are nearly upon us and Disney this year has earned itself 9 nominations once again! Last year, INSIDE OUT brought home the Oscar gold continuing to show that the House of Mouse still excels where it all started… in animation.
This year Disney has TWO animated films up for the Animated Feature Oscar for MOANA and ZOOTOPIA. The latter won the Golden Globe award for this year which may be a strong indicator as to the winner for the Academy Award. ROGUE ONE picked up nods for Sound Mixing and Visual Effects. The Star Wars flick also has some in-house competition for that Visual Effects award with THE JUNGLE BOOK and DOCTOR STRANGE also picking up the same recognition.
