With the threat of Hurricane Matthew, many are bracing for what could be a pretty terrible weather pattern passing through Orlando. Walt Disney World has confirmed the early and complete closures around Walt Disney World for today and tomorrow which will prompt many questions from guests on property.
Obviously, safety and well-being are top priority and several national services and resources are available to keep people informed and safe but in light of the atypical circumstances, Disney Parks have released an FAQ page for guests to stay informed about their actual bookings and travel packages.
My Walt Disney World vacation is taking place at the same time that Hurricane Matthew is expected to impact Central Florida. How may this affect my vacation plans?
Walt Disney World Resort is operating under normal conditions at the present time as we continue to monitor Hurricane Matthew. Recent forecasts indicate that there could be rain and wind in the Central Florida area as early as Thursday, October 6, 2016.
We are currently taking precautions for the safety of our Guests and will continue providing updates as the situation evolves. While we make the appropriate preparations, please be aware of the following—in the instance that Hurricane Matthew directly affects your plans:
- Dining and Disney Resort hotel cancelation fees imposed by Disney will be waived for all Guests.
- If you have any questions about your Disney Resort hotel reservation, please call (407) 934-7639.
