When people think about Disney movies, they often associate it with the iconic Disney song. And behind that song is usually composer ALAN MENKEN. Well, this Friday, SEGERSTROM CENTER for the ARTS will present A WHOLE NEW WORLD, stories and songs from ALAN MENKEN. Some of his song and score credits for film musicals include The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, The Shaggy Dog, Home on the Range, Enchanted, Tangled and Mirror Mirror.
This once in a lifetime event will have him sharing stories and of course songs from his amazing collaborations with Tim Rice, Lynn Ahrens, Howard Ashman, Jack Feldman, Dennis Green, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Ariel Shaffir, & Kyle Hunter, Stephen Schwartz, Glenn Slater, and David Zippel. In 2001 he received the distinction of being named a Disney Legend.
