Now that Wander Over Yonder and Gravity Falls are over, Disney’s next big animated TV show is hands down, Star vs. The Forces of Evil and that was made clear with the passionate fans in attendance for the panel today at San Diego Comic-Con!
While the show is fun and quick-witted like its predecessors, it also explores darker themes such as loss and survival of the fittest.
Creator Daron Nefcy came up the idea for Star 10 years ago and is overwhelmed by the success of this character and her adventures. Joining Daron on the panel were the show’s vocal talent Eden Sher (Star) and Adam McArthur (Marco) who did a live table read from an upcoming episode.
Although not in attendance to this panel, Alan Tudyk (Wreck It Ralph) also lends his voice to Star’s nemasis Ludo (Alan was downstairs in Hall H for is crowd favorite web-series Con Man.)
Directors Dominic Bisignano & Aaron Hammersley discussed how they apply their real life experiences to the scripts. So what’s next for this fan favorite? A book and original comic-books!
The continuation of Season two is sure to shock fans because as Eden put it, “STAR GETS RRREEAAALLLLLLL!!!” Many attendees dressed as the characters from the show and the panel had an impromptu costume contest! Audience members were treated to sneak-peaks of future episodes, and all given Star posters, pins, and coloring pages.
Check out Star vs. The Forces of Evil and the crazy adventures that ensue Monday nights on Disney XD!
