The first year attending San Diego Comic-Con we were waiting in Ballroom 20 for another panel when up first was the BONES panel. We had never seen the show before, so we didn’t know what to expect. Would the panel be all about the science of the show? Much to our surprise it turned out to be one of the funniest panels at the Con that year, and one we look forward to every year.
Here are a few things we learned from the BONES farewell panel…
The cast is super funny
Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz really have fun with eachother. The showrunners always bring a great clip of bloopers from the show. The entire cast get into hilarious high jinx. You can tell they all really like working together. Also, Emily and David came up with the catchy tune to bring uo fans to ask questions at Comic-Con. Fan questions, fan fan questions will always be my favorite.
Loose ends will be tied up before the finale
Everyone hates when there favorite show ends without tying up some loose ends. Thankfully, the cast addressed that everything will work out in the end. One of those things being that Cam and Arastoo will be getting married! And Zack will be back. Eric Millegans character wil be returning for Season 12.
Fans will only get 12 episodes this season
Although 12 episodes is a far cry from Bones‘ normal 22-episode seasons, co-showrunner Jonathan Collier promised “a lot is going to happen in the new season. Because we have 12 episodes and not 22, it’s going to happen at a faster pace
The cast doesnt know how the show will end
When asked how the cast wants the show to end, Deschanel said she’s leaving her character’s fate in the hands of the writers. “Hopefully not in death,” she said. “I hope that there’s some kind of happy ending on some level, although I know there’s going to be some sadness in the season.”
That sadness may come with the death of two characters in the upcoming season, as teased by Peterson. It’s “no one at this table,” Peterson said of the show’s core cast in attendance, which also included David Boreanaz, Tamara Taylor and John Boyd. “But there are two other people from past seasons who will die in this final season.
We will finally know what 447 means
Peterson promised that the meaning behind “447” will finally be revealed in the series’ penultimate episode. “You will find out what ‘447’ means,” Peterson says.
Emily Deschanel is directing the season premiere
The season 12 finale will premiere sometime in 2017 with Emily Deschanel directing it.
