A fury was re-sparked again this week after news resurfaced about a partnership between Disney and Netflix that was previously anounced 2012. The hub-bub surrounds the fact that Netflix will this year become the exclusive U.S. subscription service for first-run live-action and animated features from the Walt Disney Company.

The new announcement per Netflix:

From September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive US pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar.

Obviously, this does not mean the entire Disney Company film catalog will be made available through the popular streaming service but what it does mean is that any new Disney, Disneynature, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar that will be streamed online in the United States will ONLY be through Netflix.

Several Disney titles have been available on the Netflix streaming service over the years and now films theatrically released this year will find their pay TV home only on Netflix.

Disney Movies Anywhere, will continue to be the premiere hub for PURCHASING and aggregating personal collections of films from the Disney-owned library.
