In what’s become a new annual tradition for the Disneyland Resort, the Lunar New Year celebrated by several Asian cultures was commemorated with special entertainment, character greets and food options at Disney California Adventure Park.

From February 5-8 this year, characters including Mulan and Mushu greeted guest to celebrate the YEAR OF THE MONKEY along with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Chip and Dale in their Lunar New year finery. Decorations around the Paradise Gardens gave the area a festive feel.

Activities and More

A few activities were available during the day to help immerse guests in the Lunar New Year celebration. Free face painting, coloring pages, and hand-painted Chinese paper greetings were some of the options available.

Local performing groups and centers were tapped to help bring a variety of entertainment paying tribute to the event.
