Finally catching up to the 21st century, the Disneyland Resort will be launching an all-inclusive new mobile app. Set to debut for both GooglePlay AND Apple App store on August 4, the new app will offer a host of features including allowing Annual Pass holders to link their passes and use their phones to gain admission into the parks.
Other perks within the app include official attraction wait-times plus information about entertainment, dining, merchandise locations and more. Be on the look out next week on the Disney Parks Blog for more info about the launch!
Many would assume that the Disneyland Resort would be folded into the current My Disney Experience app that is currently in use in Orlando offering similar features for Walt Disney World guests. However, the new app will NOT be connected to this interface or the Shop Disney Parks app either.
UPDATE! August 4, 2015: IT’S HERE!
The app can now be downloaded via GOOGLE PLAY and the Apple APP STORE. Check out some screenshots below!

What to Expect
Park Info
The app will include a variety of helpful info that guests can access via a real-time interactive map including:
- Attraction wait times
- Character meet and greet locations
- Dining locations
- Restroom locations
- PhotoPass locations
- Entertainment show schedules
Park Entrance
- Park Tickets can be purchased directly though the app and then ticket barcodes on mobile device can be used on initial entry into the parks. A real ticket will be printed at that point.
- Annual Passholders can link their AP for theme park entry.
- Families can link several APs to the app for easier park entrance.
- Physical AP will still be required for park discounts and FASTPASS.
- Initial purchase of APs must still be done online or via ticket booths.
- This perk is NOT yet available for Premier Annual Passholders.
Great
When will PERK be available to and or for Premium/ Premier AP?
Premium Annual Passholders will be able to use the new app right away. We don’t know when AP integration will be available for Premiere Annual Passholders.
It will launch with support for all APs except for Premier
Will there be a way to upload money- like the gift cards? Would be great if we only had to bring our phones!
That’s a great idea, but Disney hasn’t listed that as one of the app’s capabilities yet. Hopefully we’ll hear more soon.
It’s great the are finally bring an app, but with so many foreign visitors and poor cell phone reception it’s often going to be rendered useless. WiFi should have been the first priority.
Hence why I bought my own mobile WiFi to use in the park. =)
How about a Fast Pass lane to parking at DLR, for those with parking passes, Silver pass that requires no additional payment?
Any idea if we will be able to add our APs to Apple’s Passbook?
Haven’t heard yet, but we’re certainly hoping so!
What is perk? Could someone explain that?
Where is the official Disney announcement for this?
Official Google Play link is here:

Why on earth did they not figure out how to include Premier passholders from the start.
I’m sure it’s something that was being worked on parallel to this development, but with Florida being on a completely different system with the magic bands, the logistics of integrating both systems would’ve delayed release too much. That’s my guess anyway.
They should have figured out the Premier pass first! The highest level pass holders should be first, then down the line (Pemium, Deluxe, etc.), not the other way around. I feel cheated! And besides, why don’t they just switch to the band system? They obviously have the technology. Time to bring Disneyland into 21st century!
So what is this app’s name going to be? What do we search in the App Store tomorrow?
Not sure. The literature refers to it as the “Disneyland App.” So it may be that simple!
Where did you get your info? I am not seeing information from Disney anywhere about this app that’s supposed to release today.
You can download it on Google Play here:

I just called Disney and they couldn’t find a new app released today either. If anyone finds the new Apple App released today please post it. Nothing has been released officially from Disney regarding a new app today. Bummed!
Hi Denise – we’ve added the link to the Apple App Store above. The app is ready to go!
Any update on the iOS app? Can’t find it anywhere.
Hi Matt – we’ve added the link to the iOS app in the article above. Have fun!
Installed the app, signed in with my AP login and my AP is now in the app. I was able to add a credit card (via my camera, nice touch!) but I think is only for purchasing additional tickets. Can’t wait to head to the park and use it!
