Recycling initiatives at the Walt Disney Company have earned the Mouse plenty of recognition for being a green eco-friendly company. That tradition, it would seem, also extends to the Studios where yet another classic Disney figure is being repurposed for a live-action remake. This time? Chernabog.
Who?
If you’ve seen Walt Disney’s 1940 classic Fantasia, you may remember “Night on Bald Mountain” segment in which the demon referred to in the film as Satan himself summons darkness over a small town with ghosts and demons reigning the night. The character was also recently adapted as a foreboding figure in the most recent season of ABC’s Once Upon A Time.
Details thus far are space but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless will be penning the script which is still in early development.
Other upcoming features to be adapted to live-screen in Disney’s fuure include The Jungle Book (2016), Beauty and the Beast (2017), Dumbo (2017), Mulan, and Winnie the Pooh.
