A few weeks ago, the walls came down around the munch-anticipated project at Universal Studios Hollywood for the new Springfield expansion! MouseInfo was invited to check out the newly created area which brings a wealth of new dining options that would make even Homer Simpson blush.

From Moe’s Tavern to the Krusty Burger some of the best known Springfield hotspots can now be visited and even better… they can now be tasted thanks to custom created menus tailored to evoke the memorable munchies from the small screen.


The best part? No passport is required so sit back relax and enjoy as we take you on a little tasting tour of Springfield…

QUICK OVERVIEW

The best way to make a plan of attack for tasting the new Springfield is to understand the lay of the land.

The Simpons Ride now has a lot more context to create a whole Springfield mini land.

The pre-existing KWIK-E-MART now has a bunch of neighbors.

There’s a cast of characters to give it life!

Tons of familiar locales have been re-created…

Now that we understand what we’re getting into let’s start off at arguably the most famous establishment in Springfield…

MOE’S TAVERN

Re-created to the finest detail, Moe’s is a fancy little watering hole where you can get your mitts on a frosty Duff or enjoy the signature orange-flavored non-alcoholic Flaming Moe. If those are not quite your speed you can enjoy a Buzz Cola or regular soft drinks.

Wish the caps had a design on them.

Tons of great details including tin ceiling tiles…

Custom-made glass panes for the windows.

Barney is a permanent fixture of Moe’s Tavern.

Ever imagine what a Krusty Burger might taste like? Wonder now more…. you can try one for yourself or if you’ve worked up a bigger petite you can take on the Clogger Burger which packs double patties and applewood smoked bacon.

KRUSTY’S KOMMISSARY
Krusty needs a more posh experience than his chain of burger stands can offer so if you’re looking for the VIP vibe, you can take your fried vittles up to Krusty’s Kommissary which features Krusty memorabilia from his storied career in entertainment.

CLETUS’ CHICKEN SHACK

If you’re craving a more backwoods type of fare then you’ll want go to no further than Cletus’ Chicken Shack. Don’t let the proprietor’s reputation fool you, the chicken and other fixin’s here are fantastic. From fluffy waffle chicken sandwiches to traditional chicken platters, there’s a tasty assortment of delicious bites here.

Delicious fluffy waffle sandwich tastes great.

Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside with a sweet sauce that melds well with the flavor of the waffle.

Mismatched chairs is a great touch.

DUFF GARDENS

BREWERY

Duff beer, for me! Duff beer for your! You’ll have a Duff…. I’ll have one, too! If you’re craving a relaxing drink in the fresh Springfield air, you can head to Duff Gardens brewery where a few other nearby eats can be purchased to help wash it all down.

BUMBBLE BEE MAN TACO TRUCK

Ay-yay-yay! Quick and tasty Mexican fare is available here.

Nachos and Tacos available with steak, chicken, or Carnitas pork.

SUDS MCDUFF’S HOT DOG HOUSE

If you’re hankering for some Italian fare, you can hop over to Luigi’s where Pizza, Pasta and Salad options await carb-eager stomachs.


LARD LAD DONUTS

If you need a sugar rush, you’ll need to look no further than Lard Lads Donuts covered in fancy toppings including Maple Bacon and Butterfinger.

PHINEAS Q BUTTERFAT’S ICE CREAM PARLOR

If donuts are still not enough, there’s always room for ice cream. If you’re going deluxe get the Donut Sundae which features a pink sprinkle donut, vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, strawberry sauce, and whipped cream! Droool. It was so good!

The best part is that the food isn’t the only detail that was meticulously crafted for this new expansion. Fans of the show will find a variety of in jokes and great Simpson’s details if they take the time to just wander around the newly created area.
